Horror B-Sides – October 6th, 2013

Hatchet – 2006

Hatchet is one of those great horror films that hardcore fans know of, but most casual do not. The writer/director, Adam Green, is a huge fan of the slasher genre of the 1980’s, and Hatchet is an homage to that genre, as well as horror as a whole. While I think the following sequels are pretty lame, the original is as bad-ass as they come. With Kane Hodder playing Victory Crowley,  A+ make-up effects, and a great cast to pick-off, you get one of the better slasher films of the last 10-15 years. The kills in this film are over-the-top & brutal, the kind of fun you’d have with the Friday The 13ths, or any Savini driven film. The one I’m showing here today is my favorite, and instead of talking about it, you guys just need to see it.
